Food can be consumed within the agricamping
because we are a registered smallholding
The family-run farm Ixtlan is small, just two hectares, situated near the village of Tatti, and offers the possibility of eating at the agricamping.
At the farm there are:
around eighty olive trees
some fruit trees
an organic vegetable garden
a field of saffron
which can be bought at the smallholding and eaten at the agricamping
Our products come from crops that have been produced using mechanical means as little as possible and cultivated without the use of any kind of chemical product, preferring to respect Nature’s innate equilibrium.
In order to eat healthily and conveniently at the agricamping.
The olive oil that we produce comes from our own olives; it is not certified but can be considered organic in all respects.
It is typical Tuscan olive oil, green and full of flavour.
We cultivate our vegetables with as little waste of water as possible and no chemical products.
We try to use heirloom seed varieties and native species where possible.
Our cultivation method is inspired by the principles of synergistic agriculture.
We have been growing saffron since 2013 (about 9000 bulbs). The flowers are hand-picked around the end of October, early in the morning, before they open, entirely by hand.
Their stigmas are extracted and dried straight away in a special low temperature oven.
We package them whole to keep their aroma intact.
Our bread is produced using a natural bread starter (mother dough) and organic flour, then baked in our wood-fired oven.
