To visit in Maremma
the sea, the rivers, the hot springs, places of historical and archaeological interest.
The following are easily reached from the agricamping:
- The sea: Cala Violina, Follonica Gulf, Punta Ala, Sterpaia Park, Baratti
- The lake Accesa
- The rivers Farma, Merse
- The hot springs: Petriolo, Sasso Pisano, Saturnia
- Places of historical and archaeological interest: Siena, Grosseto, Massa Marittima, Roselle, Vetulonia, San Galgano, Populonia
To visit
TATTI
At a short walk from the campsite there is this small Medieval village at 450 m asl in the High Maremma area of Tuscany.
It has 1 bar pizzeria restaurant, 1 small supermarket, a grocer’s and a cultural and sports association ACSI.
Some of the local farms, which produce milk, yoghurt, cheese, honey and biodynamic vegetables, are open to visits.
The countryside surrounding Tatti is still virtually uncontaminated. There are numerous trails and paths leaving from the village which can be taken by mountain bike or on foot.
MEDIEVAL TOWNS
Within a 10 km radius there are the Medieval villages of Roccatederighi and Montemassi.
It is definitely worth going for a walk in the cool woods of chestnut trees above Sassofortino.
The wonderful town of Massa Marittima is a must-visit.
A visit to Siena, stopping off at San Galgano on the way, is also well recommended.
LAKE
For those who love sunbathing and swimming Lake Accesa, is easily reached.
This is a wonderful spring-water lake with crystal-clear water and even a small beach with Caribbean colours.
THE SEA
The sea is little more than a half-hour drive away.
The best places are: Punta Ala, the well-known Cala Violina the lesser-known Cala Civette and the Sterpaia Park, between Follonica and Piombino.
If you travel a little further to the south you will be able to visit the old small port at Castiglione della Pescaia.
To the north Baratti Gulf.

The Giardino dei Suoni by Paul Fuchs, at 15 min from Tatti, the Giardino di Daniel Spoerri at Seggiano, the Giardino dei Tarocchi, near Capalbio.
Nature Parks
The Maremman Regional Park (formerly Parco dell’Uccellina), the Parco Costiero della Sterpaia.
Archaeological Parks
Roselle, Vetulonia, the Baratti Archaeological Park and Populonia, which is in the wonderful Baratti Gulf.
